Caller: Hey Melissa, whats up?
Me: Nothing much just folding my laundry.
Caller: That’s chill, so I read your blog.
Me: cool!
Caller: I like the little Blog Challenge thing you got going on.
Me: really? I’m kinda getting over it now.
Caller: I do but I’m a little disappointed.
Me: really? Why?
Caller: Because on day 6 you didn’t write your beauty pageant answer!!!
So this is for you my dear friend! My “Beauty Pageant Answer!!”
Day 6 – A photo of an animal you’d love to keep as a pet.

Growing up I spent a lot of time at my grandmother’s house. She loved hummingbirds. She had little hummingbird figurines, book, pictures, quilts, anything with a hummingbird on it, all over her house. She even woke up early everyday in order to feed the hummingbird so she would always have them flying around her backyard. I loved to sit in the window and watch the hummingbirds fly from flower to flower as my grandmother would tell me why hummingbirds were so special.
Aerodynamically speaking hummingbirds can’t fly. Their little wings are way too small compared to their body and it’s just impossible. But nobody ever told a hummingbird that they can’t fly; they just flap their tiny wings as hard as they can until they take off. Having a hummingbird would not only remind me of my grandmother and how much I miss her but it would also remind me of the most important lesson she ever taught me, “Nothing is EVER impossible!”
